A grand old Girvan single grain, independently bottled for the Old Particular range by Douglas Laing! This one was aged for 30 years, from December 1989 to March 2021, in a single cask. Following that, the whisky was bottled up at 51.5% ABV, with an outturn of only 204 bottles.


12 year old single malt distilled by the brilliant Glen Moray, and aged in a refill hogshead cask from June 2008 to August 2020. After that dozen-year-long slumber, Douglas Laing came along and bottled it up for the Old Particular range, with an outturn of 354 bottles.


A sherry puncheon of Glenallachie 2005 bottled at 15 years old by Douglas Laing for their Old Particular series at a good drinking strength of 48.4%. Lovely colour on this whisky, and Douglas Laing know how to pick a good cask, so this is unlikely to hang around.

Puncheons are broad, dumpy casks associated with rum and sherry, and can be absolutely enormous - up to 700 litres - but this one has sadly only yielded 193 bottles, so you'd best be quick about it if you want one.


Looking for a particularly tasty whisky? How about an Old Particular?! This is a 12 year old Glenburgie single malt, bottled by the ever brilliant Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. It began life in February 2007 and was aged in a refill hogshead for a dozen years, before being bottled up in November 2019 with an outturn of 365 bottles.


A 12 year old Glengoyne, independently bottled by those wonderful folks over at Douglas Laing! This was distilled in August 2005 and left to age in a hogshead cask for a dozen years until it was bottled in September 2017 with an outturn of 351 bottles.


12 year old single malt from the marvellous Macduff Distillery, independently bottled up by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. This expression was aged in a refill hogshead for a dozen years, from June 2009 to September 2021, before being bottled at 48.4% ABV with an outturn of only 327 bottles – each one featuring the rather optimistic phrase "Cheers to better days" on the label.

OLD PARTICULAR Midnight Series North British 2003 – 18 Year Old. Spicy and flavourful, this 18-year-old North British has been aged in Sherry casks before joining the special ‘Midnight’ series of Douglas Laing. Created in honour of the darkest time of the night, it features single cask bottlings with an exceptionally dark colour and a unique richness of flavour due to their ageing in Sherry casks. Distilled in March 2003 and bottled in June 2021 without colouring or chill filtration, this single grain is a limited edition of 712 bottles worldwide.


A somewhat mysterious single malt from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range. This one comes from "Probably Orkney's Finest Distillery", though with the very small number of distilleries on Orkney, you might be able to figure out which one it was from. The whisky itself was distilled in June 1999 and bottled in August 2020 after 21 years of maturation in a refill hogshead. 236 bottles were produced.


13 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the sadly closed Port Dundas distillery, independently bottled by Douglas Laing. It was distilled in July 2004, matured in American oak barrels and bottled in March 2018 for the Old Particular range.


A single grain from the Port Dundas Distillery, independently bottled for the Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. This one was distilled in July 2004, and bottled in December 2020 after a finishing period in a Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. At 16 years of age, the whisky was bottled up at 54.1% ABV, with an outturn of just 343 bottles.


This fine 20 year old Lowland single grain whisky was laid to rest at the Port Dundas distillery in October 2000 and bottled for Douglas Laing's Old Particular range in May 2021.

Charged from refill barrel number 15004 and bottled at 51.5% ABV, this is one of just 259 bottles that comes complete with presentation tube.


A single cask Talisker here, distilled in November 2009 and filled into a refill hogshead. There it rested for the following decade, until Douglas Laing bottled it in October 2020 at 10 years old for the Old Particular range. Just 376 bottles were released at 48.4% ABV.


A brilliant single cask unpeated Tobermory from indie bottler Douglas Laing! This single malt was distilled on the Isle of Mull back in 2005, and left in a refill hogshead for the next 15 years. In October 2020 it was drawn from the cask and bottled for the ever-wonderful Old Particular series, with 349 bottles released at 48.4% ABV.
